Merry Christmas!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world through Him might be saved."
John 3:16-17

A very Merry Christmas to you all!

a tiny update

The Christmas tree has been conquered and the house is slowly but surely getting back to normal as stacks of bins and boxes turn into decorations.

On the sewing front I had grand plans yesterday for all sorts of sewing progress, very little of which happened. Stupid sore neck. I almost finished cutting out my Victorian corset. I'm having a hard time deciding on a fashion fabric for the outside. I thought I had found the perfect thing last night but when I went to cut it out there wasn’t enough. Moo. So I need to look at the stash again.

*sigh*

happy things | day nine

Dec 23:
1 - tea at Pinkadilly
2 - antiquing with Bridget & Mom and finding sparkly things
3 - a good hair day
4 - Bridget being home (I haven't mentioned that one yet right? :P)

In other news, for the first time since I started writing them, my Christmas letter is still un finished. It has been a hard one to write for whatever reason. It's really been stressing me out so Monday I decided to just set it aside until New Years. I'm determined to see it through (I know I'll be glad I wrote it in a couple of years, it's always good to go back and read the letters) but I don't want to deal with it while Bridget is home. Her visit is too short for stressful things!

Five Christmas Queries meme

Five Christmas Queries

1. Will you be having a white Christmas?
No, we will have a rainy Christmas. *blah* Bring on the migraines! *pouts*

2. Best present you could get/have already received this season?
So far the best is What Marie Antoinette Wore to the Revolution – yay! The rest of the surprises will have to wait for Christmas.

3. Egg nog or snogging under the mistletoe?
Neither at this point. In theory the snogging but one needs a guy for that and I don’t have one of them yet! :>

4. Is time on your side?
Not really, although I think it will be okay. I keep thinking tomorrow is Christmas Eve when it’s not so I’m feeling panicky without cause. I’d be totally golden if when weren’t traveling to the grandparents on Christmas Eve – bah humbug!

5. Favorite holiday tradition:
The food. We have been collecting decadent favorites for a month now for the special day, including a hamper from Fortnum & Mason. I can’t wait for the feasting (and champagne-ing) to begin!

Christmas rambles

Today was lovely, as all Christmases should be. :> I’m still sick of course so I wasn’t able to eat as much as usual and spent a lot of the day napping and watching movies with the family but that was fine, it was still lovely.

I was thoroughly spoiled again this year, not only by my family but by elizabethsdress & elvenjoy as well. Plus the enjoyment of all your Christmas wishes and online gifts of course. I am so blessed it just isn’t funny. Thank you ladies!

I had quite a nice costume haul, especially if you include my new DVDs. I now have The House of Elliot (series one), Les Miserable and the Lion in Winter to watch until my heart is content. So stinking cool! I also received the Koto Fashion book (the two volume version), an English country dance CD and a gift certificate for my colonial shoes (I should have ordered those today!). There was more (including the new Bible I wanted) but I won’t bore you with the non costume stuff. Needless to say I was definitely surprised a few times and thrilled with everything. I love Christmases that are a good mixture of what I asked for and things I didn’t. It’s more fun that way. :>

Oh yes and we bought the cats a toy too. Honestly I think we are getting as much enjoyment out of it as they are though. We got one of those laser pens. Nefret is particularly wild about it. It’s hysterical! No one can say our kitties don’t have good entertainment value. *grin*

Well I’m off to take some meds and hop in bed. We are going out early for the sales tomorrow (twelfth night decorations here we come!) so I have to get up way too soon. At least I can crash when we get home. :>
