brilliant-beyond-brilliant schemes
I had a series of errands to run that took up my afternoon but I did manage to size up that Arnold pattern and cut out part of the toile. I’m thinking I’ll set that aside now and try out Suzi’s brilliant-beyond-brilliant idea of using the Diderot stays as the base pattern though. It’s perfect really, as I love my stays and they are already sized and fitted.

If that doesn’t work for some reason (crossing fingers), I can always go back to the Arnold. I’ll probably use that sleeve regardless, since it’s all ready to go. I'm running out of that odious pink and black stripe though… I should hop to Walmart this weekend and see if they have any obnoxious cotton stripes on the $1 yard table. I love working with brightly colored stripey toiles, it makes me happy. :>

Oh yes and speaking of Diderot stays, here is a link to the ones Bjarne just finished:

So yummy!

Yeah, welcome to the club. Every time I think my embroidery is looking pretty good I browse Bjarne or my pics from the V&A textile rooms. It puts me back in my place. :>
