my not sewing day
Well my Française sewing day today did not go as planned. After spending the morning cleaning, organizing and researching myself to a point where I could work on my petit panier I realized that I had neither the ribbon (duh that is what I needed from Walmart!) nor the hoop boning I needed. So I ordered the boning. *sigh*

Then I organized and researched myself to a point where I could start work on my Française (I don't need the pannier to start on the back pleats) when I realized that I hadn’t washed the lining fabric I bought right before Christmas. It's in the wash now. *sigh*

I suppose I could switch tacks and work on my Titanic evening dress toile but I had kind of promised myself that I won't work on it until the Française was well underway. See it's the Titanic I really want to work on (now that I have FINALLY decided what to do) but the Française that I need to wear on Feb 4th. That’s right a robe à la Française in a month. Yeah.

And now I have a headache that I think wants to be a migraine. So I think I'll just give up and play Angry Birds. Maybe if I'm feeling better later I'll stay up and ring in the New Year being productive. Or not.

I am planning on making a hoop like Megan's too! :)

I know - it's been on my list for over a year now. I fell in love with its simplicity and frilliness the moment I saw it!

Lol! Replace Angry Birds with Legend of Zelda and our days sound very similar. ;-)

I vote for Angry Birds! (and in case you didn't know, Wreck the Halls has a New Year's Eve bonus egg--it's in the golden egg section!)

You can totally do a Francaise in a month though! The amount of sewing in one is surprisingly small. Once everything is pinned and draped, it really flies together.

I second this! My dress is really coming together quickly. It now has fronts and skirts. You can totally do this!

You'll be proud to know I've gotten both Dad and Bridget hoked on Angry Birds too. :>

That is what I have heard about the Francaise - its the only reason I'm even attempting it - so I hope it's really true! :>

I'm very proud, actually! Hee :)

I was surprised how quickly the pet en l'air, pink pet en l'air and francaise all went together. I think I finally believe that they're relatively quick projects :)

But then there is fast for you and fast for us Muggles. Hee hee. At least I know lots of people to pester if I get stuck! :>

Quite true! I am thinking in comparison with my other dresses though. It definitely takes less time than an anglaise--think about it, no stupid skirt pleats to annoy you! I only call them stupid because I always find them annoying myself :)

Well, you were productive in other ways though. The petie panier is pretty, pretty.

True. No actual sewing though. *sigh*

Hee hee! Silly frilly hoops are so much fun :D
Have you told us yet what your Francaise will be like?!

I know, I should have just stolen yours and been done with it though. :> I bought the ribbon for them today - bright pink! I figured if I was going for silly underwear I should go all the way.

And no I haven't told you about my franciase... I'm still sorting it out to be honest. Looks like it's going to be one of those "organic" rather than geeked-out-planning projects. :>

I know what you mean. I can't start on my Francaise until my birthday dress is done, which won't really be until Jan 14th. I'll have 3 weeks to make a Francaise...eek!

Eek is right! I feel better now... :>
