site spring cleaning
Updated my site last night. I uploaded my "spring cleaning & tweaking" (been working off-line on it for a while) so it was a big update. Most of the main section pages have a new look, all the link pages do as well. I stayed with the old black background and the Italian font but I played around with the layout trying to make everything look more cohesive and pretty.

Added a few new links while I was fixing the link pages, including a way overdue one for elizabethsdress. I am so bad about updating my links!
Also added a search engine. I used the one on Padawan's Guide and found it to be very helpful, so I decided to add the same one to my site. It's a free Google one. Love Google!
Updated the Eowyn journal with a summery of the silk dyeing saga too.

I still have a few more things I want to update/tweak of course. A web-mistress's work is never done! :>

Like the new page layouts you did! Very cool. ;) It looks a lot like CSS, but I figure you did tables since I know how addicted to those you are. ;) Great job!

Glad you like! It's your fault you know, I got the design itch seeing your lovely EM re-design. Talk about a bad influence!

Yep, all tables. Someday I'm going to break down and learn the CSS but for now I'll just continue in the pre-historic age of plain HTML and Java. What can I say, it works (and it's fast to download). :->

Thanks for adding me to your links:) I am currently in the process of redoing my links page cause it was getting too messy, of course I will add you to the links page once it is up an running again. I did a little site update today as well, dont know if I am happy with the new photo on the initial page--I'll test it on my nephews computer tonight and see if I really like it.

I wanted to mention to you about the new "Vogue Sewing Today" magazine that is out, they have a nice section on 1940's Vintage Vogue and Vintage Fabric (I purchased the new Vintage patterns at Joann's yesterday, couldnt not resist)I highly suggest you check it out.

Your site looks great by the way, always good work on your part.

Have a happy Easter.

You are very welcome! It's been on my list to do for a while...

I like the new main page pic. It’s cute. I'm partial to the Elizabeth portrait though, it seems so appropriate. It's also my favorite portrait of Elizabeth I. Someday I'm going to make a dress like that... :->

Oh new vintage Vogue... drool... I will check out the mag you mentioned - thanks!

Thanks for the input, a lot of people have been saying the same thing about the ER portrait. Maybe I will change it back to the Princess Elizabeth Portrait after all, but size it down a little. If you make that dress I think it would be a first, no one has done that before, at least to my knowledge. It would be totally smashing!
