sickly, sickly - Jenny La Fleur
adventures in costuming
sickly, sickly
So yes, officially sickly, along with the rest of my family. Hopefully it's just a short lived thing 'cause I have things to do!

I did nothing all day yesterday but nap, watch movies with Mom and work on my Pearl. We watched the old BBC Emma, the old BBC Persuasion, Amazing Grace and The sons of Katie Elder so it was mostly a Regency day. One more motif done - yay! The train is really starting to drape nicely from the weight of the pearls. Yummy...

Thanks! I'm feeling better today.

No the John Wayne was the one anomaly of the day. :>

Well that's good!! :-D

Aha! Okay, thanks. (my dad has that one and I didn't think it was Regency, but if it was, I was going to watch it, lol)

Sorry you're sickie-poo. Bad time of the year to be that way. Or anytime.
You just reminded me I haven't rented Amazing Grace yet to watch, so I need to do that soon.

Well, if you have to be sick, at least it's a good excuse to catch up on your period movie viewing! I just watched the 70's BBC Persuasion myself; I thought it was an excellent adaptation, despite the sometimes scary costumes! How is the old Emma? Worth watching?

Yes some of the 70s color combinations are a little hard on the eyes. :> I still like it though, it's a great do handwork too 'cause you can just listen.

No, I hated the old Emma. I hadn’t seen it in about 10 years and remembered not liking it but I really think it's the worst of that series of adaptations. The costumes were pretty bad, although some of the hats were interesting. Most of it was just funky and everyone seemed to be wearing mob caps. Weird. For some reason they changed the story in places too, which is uncommon in that series. The changes didn't add anything I thought. I didn't think the casting was well done either, not even the Emma shines. All in all a strange little adaptation in my opinion.

It is nice that I've been able to get something accomplished. I'm not panicking on my CC to-do list quite so much.

Yucky poo! I'm sorry you got sick! Glad the pearls are helping rather than hindering your train :D

Thanks for the sympathy! Oh no the pearls are definelty a help, my fabric is so lightweight and airy - it needed some weight on the hem.
