CC here I come!
So yes - Costume College.

I've been rather silent on the subject because I've spent the spring debating back and forth whether I would go or not. There are lots of reasons I won't go into here, but one of the main reasons is I really want to get to London next year. I figure if I really MUST turn 30 in 2009 I should be in London for the occasion. :>

I also have a trip to NYC this September. Dad has a business conference so can anyone say free hotel in downtown Manhattan? Far too good to pass up.

So lots going on and choices needing to be made. I decided about 2 weeks ago that yes CC is where I'm supposed to be this summer. I just need work my MK a little harder, maybe not go to dinner quite so much and behave myself in the fabric district. Every time I go shopping now I think "Costume College and London". It does wonders for my impulsive buying streak. :>

Luckily I went ahead and signed up for limited classes (just in case). I've spent the last two weeks looking at flights and trying to figure out what I'll be wearing. This whole pay for your second bag and everything has to be under 50lbs is seriously cramping my style! Two of the outfits I wanted to wear I may skip just because of packing issues. Neither is finished so it’s a time issue as well. So CC may or may not see the Poe and Black-n-White Bustle. I'm thinking of saving them for Costume Con next year when I don’t have to fly...

The rest is really up in the air, mostly due to me being indecisive. I also am trying hard to pace myself and not end up a crazed and sleepless seamstress in July. I’m not in the mood, even if it means wearing something “old”. I want to have fun at CC, not be sleep deprived and sewing there. Definitely on the list though are:

Things that are finished:
Striped Pierrot
Chemise Gown

Projects to complete:
Blue Cotton English Gown: everything
Pink Pimpernel: refit/revamp, trim
Pearl: embellishment, sleeves
Regency Day Dress: everything
Regency bonnet: cover & trim
Shift: everything

So that makes two re-vamped outfits from last year, but it's part of my London savings program. Waste not, want not! :> Besides they are so different than the first versions it will be cool.

London yeah!! Just you, or you and B? I has a guest room at last! It always needs people to stay in it. Where is Costume Con next year?

You are such a darling! I'm so excited to stay with you, it will make it that much more fun! B and I are crossing fingers that she can come too. It depends on how insane medical school turns out to be. Right now she is just doing a masters program, she starts med school in the fall so we'll find out then. She has her fall break right around my birthday (first week in Oct) though... :>

Costume Con is in April in Baltimore, which is a mere two hours from my humble abode. Any chance of you making it out here? If so you are welcome to stay with us! I don't have a guest room but I'll gladly give you mine own if you need it! :>

Looking forward to both of you coming in that case - what fun!

How do I find out about Costume Con? And if I came, do I fly into Baltimore, or to your "nearest" airport. I would so like to go, just once. I'll e-mail with more questions.

Just a thought: if it's cheaper to mail it out here, I'd be happy to bring it up for you. I'm driving.
In the past I know some people have mailed costumes, etc, to the hotel and they held it for them. But I'm sure I'd be comfortable doing that.

Thanks for the offer - you are sweet! i don't know that it will be that much cheaper with shipping costs what they are these days. If I need to take you up on the offer though I'll let you know! :>

Yay! I'm so thrilled you're coming to Costume College! You'll look fabulous no matter what you wear. :o) I wish I could fall back on older stuff but alas, the belly. Oh well, at least I'm doing Regency, which is the easiest time period for me.
