handsewing is so slow!
All quiet on the Jenny-Rose front. I've mostly been researching future projects. *rubs hands with glee* Mom and I watched series 1 & 2 of The House of Elliott while we have been recovering, which hasn’t put me in a 1920s mood (like I thought it would) but rather a designing and planning mood. I brought out pens and paper today and had way too much fun playing with ideas.

The fashion doll is progressing though. I decided to sew it all by hand, more control on those small pieces and the chance to say I did it. I think I may have cut out the wrong doll front though. The pattern wasn’t too clear about which was the natural bust version and which the corseted bust version so I guessed. I had a 50/50 chance right? Oh well.

The reverse appliqué is going well too, I've gotten quite a bit done on the kit. It's hard to put down! Hopefully I'll be up to some real sewing tomorrow... my energy levels are still way down. If not, perhaps I can finish the doll.

What is Gadsby's fall ball about? Is it 1920's theme or is it a location?

Location - it's the Fall Ball at Gadsby's Tavern, a lovely and historic spot in Alexandria Virginia. This ball is a 1770s theme I think. They have several balls a year and I haven't made it to any of them. I've decided (especially after our ball was canceled) that this is the year!
