adventures in costuming
post CC progress

Still not feeling well. My voice is worse today (good thing I called last night Jenni! :>) but other than that I'm just feeling tired and blah. Stupid virus.

I did manage to have a rather productive day though. Did a fitting for an alteration job (moneymoney!), cut out my fashion doll, started on some practice reverse appliqué (for a secret costuming project - ooh!), ironed the linen for my new shift - heck I even got some MK stuff done! Go me.

I've been doing some organizing this week too. The ONLY good thing about B leaving is that her room is now up for grabs. Mom gave me permission to hang up the costumes I wear for RCHS in her closet, if I would get rid of the wardrobe in the garage. So Mom and I went through all the dress-up/costuming, got rid of some old stuff and re-organized the rest. Eventually I want to replace the old tubs the rest of the costuming is in but for now it works. While we were at it, we also went through my pending sewing box and the scrap fabric bin. We got both of those down a lot which makes me feel good. I then went through all my pattern/toile files and weeding out papers and toiles I didn't need to keep. I love organizing.

Today will be another quiet day I guess. Maybe I'll finish that appliqué kit - I was really scared of it but I'm finding it's really quite addicting. I might get that costume made after all! :>

I hope you start feeling better soon! But organizing always helps. I find it easier to feel better when my surroundings are all nice and neat.

Thanks Dear! Yep, I CAN'T work unless my space is tidy, one of my oddities. Means I tend to spend my sewing time cleaning instead of sewing, except for the pre CC rush of course. :>

Mmmm, fun reverse applique. Of course, I'm inordinately fond of turquoise, so you got my vote on the color choice for starters...I like the white on white, too. Have you seen the Hmong and Kuna folk traditions of reverse applique? they both tend to do channels of about a 1/4 inch wide....very detailed!

No I haven't seen that - sounds fun! I really like some of the black on white I've seen too, very elegant. Hee, I picked it out just for you of course! :>
