shoe report
So the full report on the Jas Townsend shoes, as promised…

I have to say I’m really happy with them. I wore them to dance class last night and they were very nice to dance in. Comfortable the whole time too. I’m really impressed with the quality of the shoes. They are very sturdy and the leather is lovely and soft. The shoes are quite light-weight (sans buckle) which is nice.

I noticed they changed my posture and gait quite a bit, sort of like wearing the correct underpinnings. I hadn’t expected that. They actually changed my posture in a good way though, making it easier to move correctly (on the balls of your feet not heels). At least to remember to move correctly. :> I’m used to much chunkier heels so I will have to get used to narrow squat heels. I found myself losing my balance a lot last night! It’s going to take some practice but I can be quite elegant in these shoes I’m sure. :>

I still think the buckle is a bit overpriced but I suppose one is forced to pay for the fact it’s a specialized thing. The buckles are very sturdy though and I have no doubt they will survive much abuse and live to see many pairs of shoes. :> Catherine (lovely lady in RCHS) did give me a hint that the buckles like to grab onto shorter petticoats so that is something to watch out for...

I should also add that I was very impressed with Jas Townsend in general. Ordering online was quick and easy & I was sent multiple emails to let me know the status of the order. The tracking (UPS) was available, accurate and fast. I had my shoes in hand less than a week after I ordered them. Four days to be precise. I will be ordering from them again!

Thanks for the report! Once I have an actual 18c dress, I will have to treat myself!
