cutting pics & injuries

My fabric pieces all ready to go! The green stripey fabric is the new lining fabric. Well, "new" is relative. It's a Wal-Mart bargain table cotton I've had for a few years. I've read that velvet tends to stretch so it should be lined or interlined. Rather than "waste" the silk on linings that will no longer be seen (in my new design), I choose the cotton (more fabric off the shelves - yay!). The only silk in the costume now is the sleeve lining.

Yes and a few pics of Bridget’s fabric all ready to go too. She stayed up late last night working on her beading design. :> I can't wait to see the finalized version!

Oh I forgot to mention yesterday that I was injured on the job yesterday. It must have been the trauma of it all! *sighs dramatically* While cleaning fuzz off my rotary cutter (used it to cut the pillow), it slipped and I sliced my thumb up. :< It probably amounts to a severe paper cut but it hurt and I now have a band-aid in a most inconvenient place. {note to Jenny - remember those cutting instruments are actually sharp} Good grief! :>

Cool!! Sounds like your Ren Faire costumes are really starting to come together. Now if I could ever get started on mine... ;)

Please, please be careful with those sharp cutting instruments--reading about your injury sent shivers up my spine!!
