It must have wafted in my open windows. 14 yards of blue & white stripe cotton have just arrived. I was originally going to do a summer bustle dress with it, but decided that since it was one of the few times I'd bought enough of one fabric to do really big 18th century dress, that is what it will be. I don't know if I'll do a polonaise, though, but I'm planning to leave slits for pulling the skirt up through (mainly to avoid tripping myself!).

A.

Ya know, now all I want to do is make a Borg 18th c outfit. That would be freaky...can you even do grey on grey stripes with silver woven in it....oh...I'm so visualizing the pretties...

You know, I think a new hat and maybe some trimming for the Neapolitan is in order for Costume Con. What do you think? ;)
bauhausfrau From: bauhausfrau Date: January 13th, 2009 11:49 pm (UTC) (link)
I think the Neapolitan totally counts and who could say no to more trim?
jennylafleur From: jennylafleur Date: January 15th, 2009 05:50 pm (UTC) (link)
Absolutely. You can never have too much trim on an 18th century frock. You could probably use your old hat too if you wanted to - just more trimmings and lots of feathers!

Of course, you are more than welcome!!! Technically my polonaise isn't striped either, my budget said no. :< *shhhh*
