So far the Poe dress is not going well. I've tried twice to print out the enlarged pattern and it won't print but 3 pages - the rest are blank. I have no idea what the issue is and really I'm just not in the mood for this.

I think I'll go crochet. *sigh*

Maybe I should just break down and buy the TV pattern. I like the Hunnisett better though...

Oh, that sucks. I hope it fixes itself soon.

I ended up drafting my own pattern based on the one in the Cut of Women's Clothes but have come to find the one in the butterick 3713 "Victoria and Albert" pattern is awfully similar, maybe you can just buy that one? It's out of print but on ebay.

Alternatively can you scale up from Hunniset? I use the 1" gridded pattern paper to scale up.

Scale up the Hunnisett - you KNOW you can do it. If in doubt, go to my instructions on the S and S board, or contact me for a reminder.

I got the printer to work but you are right I need to get over my fear and learn to do it by hand. Maybe I'll make that one of my 2008 goals. :>

Actually Mom has that pattern. It's not quite what I was looking for though, although the way this toile it acting it's nice to know I have a back-up!

I've never scaled up before... I'm very intimated by it, which I need to get over one of these days.

I'm sure you could do it.

I was very intimidated by it too. I still end up using other's patterns more often than not, but I'm getting better. The 1" square gridded pattern paper is a must for me (they sell it in the notions dept of g street).

do you have access to a scanner? I scanned Hunnisett as bitmap, and printed it to scale. I copied a smallish corner of the BMP so that I wasn't printing multiple pages trying to get the correct % to scale.

Yeah, that how I got the image into my graphics program. I'll have to see if I can scan as a .bmp - I've never tried with this scanner. Thanks!

It would probably work just as well with another picture format. The scanner I used defaulted to BMP, so I went with that.

Thanks! It's nice to know someone thinks I can do it. :P

I know you can scale up the Hunnisette pattern too!

But.... Have you considered this yummy pattern? I like it better than the TV one.

Yes I considered it (I think this is the one <lj user="misslemon") is using) but it's not really what I had in mind. I was trying for a pattern that didn't have darts. I'm not really a dart girl. :P
